Knitting

Our Claire's favourite hobby, as all who new her will know, was her knitting. A day would not go by without her picking up those needles, she would even take her knitting on holiday, (yes she some how managed to get those knitting needles through airport security, post 9/11 as well, only Claire could get away with this). She had two very good knitting buddies, Jane and Chris (I suppose I should say 3 buddies as Chris's husband Tony would often chip in with his opinions when the conversation got to knitting, usually ending up with us all in tears of laughter). Many babies from Essex to Devon benefited from her knitting; clothes, shawls, blankets, hats and booties. I even set up a webpage for her to sell some of her clothes and in fact the day befor she passed away she got her first order. Through the years Claire would put away various baby clothes etc. she had knitted into a large box for when our daughter Sarah had a baby (Sarah had been trying for a baby for 5 years so you can imagine how big that box is now😀). Claire had come to the realisation that she would not see Sarah pregnant, Sarah just to wrapped up in what was happening to her mum and wanting to spend as much time with her as she could. However, within three months of Claire passing and 5 years of trying, Sarah found out she was pregnant, found out on Claire's birthday in fact, I have no doubt Claire has had a hand in this happening, and now all that knitting she did for Sarah will be put to good use and our darling Claire, will after all, be a part of her 4th grandchild's life.
